Long hair is very versatile and the styling options are endless, but have you ever wondered how to make your hair grow faster? Are you regretting that short hair cut you got recently? Or do you just want to try something new? There are a few ways to actually speed up the hair growth process…

  3. What I wish I knew when I was a preteen/teen:hair care version

1- don’t use heat styling so much
When I was a teen, I did not know how to care for my wild and crazy hair so I would straighten or use so much heat on my hair but I did use heat protectant every time I used heat because I learned the hard way in middle school that all of these heat tools were damaging! But even with the protectant my hair wasn’t in the best condition! And I spent an hour every morning trying to tame my hair! I wish I could have all of that time back!

    2- Embrace your natural hair
I am in love with my wild and big curly hair! I wish back then I could have felt the same way! Since then I have learned the proper way to care for and style my hair and now I love it and spend a lot less time on it!

    3- deep condition
I never did this back then and it makes a huge difference!!!

    4- NO SULFATES
Since I stopped using SULFATES the health of my hair is improving!

5- Curly girl method! And no silicones!!!

I wish that someone had bought me the curly girl book by Lorraine Massey the creator of deva curl!

6- use natural oils on your hair!

7- not to wash my hair so often!

It really drys out your hair!

8- use a spray bottle of water with a little bit of conditioner in it to refreshen hair!

❀-Give yourself a weekly scalp massage! Pamper your head with nourishing oils such as olive, coconut or almond. Natural is better~ this boosts circulation and carries nutrients for fuller hair.

πŸ’š-Use a zesty type shampoo! A peppermint-enriched shampoo can stimulate the scalp, and get you stronger follicles.

πŸ’œ-PLEASE avoid tight hairstyles! Hairstyles that pull hair too much put external force on the follicles and could lead to some hair loss.

πŸ’›-Eat protein rich foooood. Your hair is protein so wouldn’t make sense to ingest protein? If not, if you don’t get enough protein in you, your hair will defiantly show it. Try greek yogurt or eggs and poultry and keep your lovely strands strong. This will support your healthy hair growth.

πŸ’™-Try a hair supplement. This would be a last resort idea, but Vitamin B-6 is a crucial vita for proper hair growth. Ask your doctor before you think this is the best way to go!

Hope this kinda helps some people?

  5. I use extra virgin coconut oil on my hair and scalp and it is a miracle product! It is about 10 dollars for the jar which is fairly inexpensive because it will last for months! I use this to massage my scalp and it has made a difference in the condition of my scalp. I have really dry scalp and since I have been using this on my scalp all of the flakes and the itch are gone. I have also noticed more hair growth since I started using if on my scalp. I also take a tiny bit and rub it on my hands and distribute it through the ends of my hair and it helps to condition it. I am able to go longer between trims! Be careful when using it because it is an oil and it takes only a little bit because it will make your hair extremely oily if you use too much. Right before I wash my hair, I soak my hair and scalp in it for 15-30 minutes and then I wash my hair sometimes I have to wash it twice with my shea moisture shampoo which is my favorite all natural shampoo! It is the only one that doesn’t dry out my hair and scalp! The coconut oil is great for its antibacterial properties among other things and it has numerous uses and I will continue to repurchase this over and over!
